What are you thankful for?

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for HE IS good and His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:1

As the weather grows colder, in preparation for Wisconsin's winter, I realize how very thankful I am! The lower the temperature falls and harsher the wind blows the greater my appreciation for the warm home that I am blessed with. I could never fully imagine what it was like to live as an early settler in this state, to live in a one room cabin with a sod roof, and stay warm throughout the entire winter. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. We have come a long way to say the very least. The faith and trust the people of that era had to have in the Lord that He would supply their every need is amazing to me. It makes me wonder though as technological advances continue to make our lives easier have we lost (or are we losing) our ability to rely on the Lord, for His help in our lives? One thing I do know for sure is that my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, helps me with little and big things in my life, daily, whether I realize it or not. I have to say for this I am truly thankful to HIM! He is amazing! I give thanks to my Lord, for He is GOOD to me, and His mercy endures for me and my family forever!!! Now, think about everything the Lord has done for you and your family, look up and take a second to stop and thank Him!!!

The Power of Words

6/4/2014

"So shall My word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it" Isaiah 55:11

Have you ever noticed that it seems like the moment you say to yourself, "I haven't had a headache in a really long time." or "I haven't had anything bad happen to me lately..." Then, sure enough, the very next day you get the piercing migraine, or you get into a fender bender. What we seem to consistently forget (or at least I know I do) is that our words matter! The words that we speak make all the difference in the world! We see in Isaiah 55:11, that our word will accomplish what we want, what we speak. When we back up our words with the Word of God that applies to our life, to what we are going through...then our words will prosper in the area we apply it to. Our Heavenly Father's love is so amazing, to trust each and every one of us to use our own mouths to speak and bless what is around us. We each make a huge difference in this world one word, one action at a time. So today, let's choose to bless (not curse) our lives. Speak blessings on your life, your family members, and the people around you. Stay positive! Don't give up! Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and you will see the fruit of your words! "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit." Proverbs 18:21

Happiness Today

5/15/2014

This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it! Psalm 118:24

It is hard to appreciate every day.
We get so caught up in our busy schedules we forget that every day is such a huge gift, from God. People tend to take life for granted. We tend to focus on our daily/monthly routines having to do this thing and that thing, moving faster and faster, to get as much crammed into each day as physically possible. Until, one day we realize that tomorrow never came...we only had a life full of todays, and yesterdays. It is time to stop, smell the roses, and find something truly awesome in our "today". Each day was created for you at this time, at this moment.....and we need to be happy with our lives! Tomorrow will never come, so lets find happiness today in the little and big joys of our lives!!
